This project features an 18th century timber barn frame originally used to house livestock but in recent years they were unable to use on the farm due to its poor condition, so we helped the client transform it into this stunning home.

The barn is a curtilage listed and on a site with a Scheduled Ancient Monument, meaning our design team had to secure full planning permission and listed building consent for this conversion, which was obtained a few years prior to the building works starting on site. As you can see from the video footage below, we used the original oak frame throughout the build adding some stunning additions, including the oak staircase and balustrade to enhance these traditional features.

In particular, using a full height entrance hall with gallery landing, together with the kitchen living area with windows to the gable and mezzanine floor above enables endless countryside views. External landscaping works were also carried out to give this client an outdoor space that equally matches the elegance and country feel inside their home.

Take a tour and watch this video which captures this stunning project beautifully !
